This Might Be the Best Driver Shaft for a…
If you haven’t been introduced yet to the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green, it’s time to change that.
Affectionately known as the “Hulk,” it just might be the single best driver shaft on the market for players with crazy high swing speeds – and aggressive tempos.
Introducing the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green
Technically the Smoke Green is not new anymore, but it still packs the latest engineering advances in the Project X HZRDUS universe.
This composite marvel is the stiffest shaft in the entire Project X HZRDUS lineup, blowing even the whole infamous Project X Black line, whose reputation precedes it, out of the water.
Stiffer and more stable, the Project X HZRDUS Green – the “Hulk” – produces laser-straight, penetrating drives that are so low they defy the senses.
This is the shaft for a golfer that can swing harder than most gear can tolerate. If your other driver shafts can’t keep up with you, this is a shaft that you absolutely need to try.
Not only is the shaft flex very stiff across the board, torque ratings match it, ranging from 3.0 to 3.2. It’s very stiff and has super-low torque.
As you might imagine, it produces low launch and spin profiles, invariably. You can swing this shaft as hard as you want and it’s not going to flinch.
In fact, that is specifically something that golfers that have played with this shaft have been quick to point out. They can swing it as hard as they possibly can and it won’t back down.
Swing it fast, swing it hard, and it still sends the ball low and straight. Straining might incur a bit of shot dispersion but on the whole there’s nothing that’s going to make the Hulk balk.
And, unlike some shafts that actually stand up well to fast swing speeds, this one is specifically engineered to tolerate aggressive swing tempos.
Think of tempo not as how fast you swing the shaft, but how you swing it fast. A tempo could be smooth and fluid, or it could be quick and abrupt.
In either case, the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green has been engineered to put up with it. It performs well in the hands of golfers who swing fluidly as well as those that have a harsher, faster, more aggressive swing tempo.
In addition to low launch, the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green also produces very little spin; impressively little spin, actually.
If you’ve been foiled by other stiff shafts in the past that simply generate too much spin, this might be the one for you to try. It’s not going to impart enough spin on the ball to really wrench shot accuracy.
With all of this being said, a pretty clear case has been made for the Smoke Green as a shaft for players with the fastest swing speeds. It can hang with the strongest golfers out there.
One caveat must be made, though. Don’t pick up a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green unless you have the muscle to make it worth it.
While the Hulk is tolerant of fast, aggressive swings, it is entirely intolerant of slow ones. It’s not going to pick up the slack for you if you need extra launch height and swing speed, so at that point, don’t even try.
Either swing this driver shaft hard or don’t swing it at all.
